Rhenus expands its warehousing solutions in Spain

The Rhenus Group has launched operations in the aeronautics market through its acquisition of Spanish logistics specialist, LTK, which was finalised on 27 January.

LTK, an integrated supply chain specialist, has a number of locations across Spain. With its headquarters based in Madrid, LTK’s additional business sites can be found in Álava in the Basque region, Andalusia, Seville and Cádiz.

The business, which was founded in 2002, has more than 26,000 square metres of warehouse capacity available in the region. LTK specialises in providing logistics solutions for the aerospace and automotive sectors, with its customers including the Airbus Group and Alestis Aerospace.

In addition to warehousing, LTK handles supply chain management, procurement, return and replacement part logistics, conducting quality checks as well as industrial handling and aircraft ground handling. The logistics specialist performs more than 110,000 technical checks for its customers every year, with its facilities in Cádiz and Seville supplying the production sites of Airbus since 2004, handling more than one million incoming and outgoing movements of goods per annum.

Andreas Plikat, managing director of Rhenus Warehousing Solutions Europe, said: “LTK’s warehouse sites will form the basis for the further expansion of Rhenus Warehousing Solutions in Spain. Working together, we hope to tap into growth opportunities in the Spanish aerospace sector. We can also launch operations in the European aeronautics market through the newly acquired expertise and the support of LTK.”
