TNT bags Woollies mailroom contract

A leading British retailer, renowned for offering high street shoppers great value for money, has struck a first class deal of its own – appointing TNT Managed Services to run the mailroom operations at two of its sites in the South East. TNT Managed Services has secured a prestigious contract with Woolworths to operate the mailrooms at the retail giant’s London Head Office in Marylebone, and at its Swindon distribution centre. The contract has seen the company’s mailroom team take responsibility for the timely delivery of some 300,000 packages and items of mail to Woolworths employees at the two sites every year.

Since securing the contract, TNT has introduced performance targets, weekly reporting and a computerised ‘goods-in’ system that tracks items from their delivery to the building to their arrival on employees’ desks. The company will be introducing enhanced collection and delivery times and bringing the Woolworths mailroom operation into line with the ISO 9000 Quality Standards.

Tim Robb, Divisional General Manager of TNT Managed Services, said: “We are delighted to have secured this prestigious contract with such a well-known name on the British high street.

“As the UK retail sector increasingly looks towards outsourcing as a further means of boosting business performance, this is a superb opportunity to showcase the considerable cost benefits, service enhancements and quality improvements TNT brings as a leading supplier of non-core, outsourced office services.”
