Austrian Post launches a range of apprenticeships for 2025
This year, Austrian Post is offering 100 apprenticeships throughout Austria.
Apprentices for the profession of local and distribution logistics specialist are particularly in demand, this apprenticeship is currently being modernised and will be launched in September 2025 as an apprenticeship as a letter and parcel logistics specialist.
EXCITING TEACHING OPPORTUNITIES IN ALL FEDERAL STATES
Austrian Post is currently looking for apprenticeships in the following five apprenticeships:
- Local and distribution logistics specialist (expected to appear as letter and parcel logistics specialist)
- Office clerk
- Retail clerk with a focus on general retail
- Retail clerk with a focus on telecommunications
- Electrical Engineer
Austrian Post’s extensive range of apprenticeships comprises a total of eight apprenticeships. Currently, training courses are also underway to become an operational logistics clerk, IT system technician and real estate agent.
APPRENTICESHIP IN LETTER AND PARCEL LOGISTICS
The course to become a local and distribution logistics specialist will be modernised, optimised in terms of content and will come as an apprenticeship in letter and parcel logistics from autumn 2025 with new momentum and exciting knowledge. In this apprenticeship, young people learn about the entire process chain of letters, parcels and direct mail directly in delivery bases and logistics centres, with a focus on the last mile. The focus is on the coordination of sorting processes, quantity and condition checks when consignments are received, the preparation of consignments for further processing and the operation of sorting and conveyor systems. Organisational activities such as personnel deployment, quality management, participation in projects and in the determination of logistical key figures are also part of it. The young people also receive personality-building training.
APPRENTICESHIP IN RETAIL
During the three-year apprenticeship as retail clerks, the apprentices are active in the branch network of Austrian Post. Social interaction and professional competence are the order of the day. In everyday life, customers are advised on shipping rates and telecommunications products and postal merchandise are sold. With comprehensive communication and sales training in their luggage, exciting career opportunities in the branch network are then open to them.
