DFDS Dan Transport acquires forwarding company in Germany

DFDS Dan Transport has signed a contract to acquire the German forwarding company Deugro Carl E. Press GmbH & Co. Logistics KG in Frankfurt with effect from 1 September 1999.
Deugro Logistics employs 120 staff and has an annual turnover of approx. DKK 220 mill.
The company is a shareholder in the Germany national distribution network Cargo Line as well as in the international CLI organisation (Cargo Line International).

With the acquisition the co-operation on Germany with CLI will be further intensified – a co-operation which commenced on 31 August 1999 and covers the DFDS Dan Transport European forwarding subsidiaries.

The acquisition is in agreement with the objective for DFDS Dan Transport, as presented in the announcement of the prospectus of 20 October 1999, to further develop the market position in Europe.

The acquisition is subject to approval by the Germany Antitrust Authorities.
