UK Couriers win Company of the Year
UK Couriers won Company of the Year at the Transport Exchange Group’s Courier Exchange annual awards. In addition, LWS Transport won New Member of the Year, and JEM Couriers won Owner Driver of the Year.
It is the sixth year in which Courier Exchange, the UK’s leading online freight exchange, has held the awards which was attended by more than 250 people.
The winners were selected by their 2000 plus fellow members.
The freight exchange concept harnesses the networking power of the internet to enable collaborative working. It provides a means by which regional courier companies can not only maximise the use of their vehicles but broaden their offering to their own customers to provide a national and in some cases European service.
UK Couriers has been a member of the Exchange for nearly three years during which time it has seen its business grow from handling regionally based work to managing national accounts. Managing director Andy Cookson commented: “Being a member of the Exchange has been great for us as it has opened up a whole new avenue of business enabling us to work with multinational companies who use our operation as a ‘hub’.
“Had we not joined the Exchange this simply would not have been possible and so we would have only just been able to operate as a regional courier company servicing our immediate locality.
“The fact that we have won the title Company of the Year is the icing on the cake and we look forward to a long association with the Courier Exchange for many years to come.”
