DHL to donate US airpark

DHL is expected to announce the donation of the Wilmington Airpark, USA, to the Clinton County Port Authority at a news conference shortly. About 8,000 workers were made redundant when the company shut down operations at the airpark last May. They were the largest employer in that area.

It has been reported that the 1500 acre property has a tax value of $62.2m.

County officials are hoping that the airpark can be used as a cornerstone of new development for the area.
