Strong Growth for Home Delivery

The home delivery market is set to grow strongly according to Verdict Reseach in its latest report: Home Delivery and Fulfilment 2001. From an estimated value of £18.9bn in 2000, Verdict forecasts that the home delivery market will be worth £34.5bn in 2005.
This will equate to an average annual increase of 13%, nearly double the rate seen over the past 5 years. Verdict said advances in technology, in particular media such as i-TV, would accelerate moves towards multi-channel retailing. It also noted the emergence of increasingly empowered and demanding consumers. The stakes were being raised in the fulfilment game because consumers wanted the convenience of their home shopping to embrace the whole experience, including home delivery.
