Lemanski appointed as TNT looks to Asia

TNT will be expanding service logistics solutions throughout this year aimed at the hi-tech sector in Asia – specifically the consumer electronics, computing and telecommunications industry. TNT also named service logistics specialist Oliver Lemanski to spearhead its expansion strategy in the service logistics market that is valued at €2.3bn in Asia Pacific and around €410m in Southeast Asia alone.

Karel van de Pijpekamp, sales and marketing director of TNT Southeast Asia and India said: “While the service logistics market in the region is growing rapidly, it is fragmented with multiple local logistics and repair providers acting independently. With our new suite of service logistics products we are aiming to provide customers a holistic solution that can seamlessly integrate with their existing repair partners and systems. The enhanced Storapart service solutions we announced in September last year was just the first of many service logistics solutions to come. I am confident that Oliver’s expert insight and foresight will take TNT’s service logistics business to the next level.”

TNT has been investing in its air and road networks, systems and knowledge. In 2009 alone, millions of dollars were invested in enhancing its facilities and infrastructures across the region, extending its Asia Road Network and boosting its air services. In addition, TNT was the first express integrator to receive the ISO28000 certification in recognition of its security standards.

Lemanski, the newly-appointed regional manager for service logistics in Southeast Asia and India said: “Repair turnaround times, inventory control, security, network reach and real-time data visibility are key priorities for our customers when identifying a logistics provider. TNT can provide integrated solutions customised to manage all aspects of post-sales product support, from front end goods pick up and consolidation right through to intelligent swapping initiatives and spare part management.”

Lemanski has almost ten years experience in the service logistics industry. Prior to his appointment at TNT he ran the Asia-Pacific division of a boutique management consultancy firm focused on strategic development and implementation of service logistics solutions.
