Nightfreight secures tyre delivery extension

UK-based Nightfreight has secured a two-year contract extension with tyre retreader company Vacu-Lug Traction Tyres. Under the contract, Nightfreight is charged with the collection and outbound delivery of Vacu-Lug’s new retread tyres from its UK plant in Grantham to its nationwide customer base via Nightfreight’s network of regional hubs.

Nightfreight and Vacu-Lug Traction Tyres have now been working together for ten years

The 18 vehicle, five day, 24-hour service will also see Nightfreight continue to collect all used tyres from customers such as Royal Mail, WH Malcolm and Veolia Environmental Services Ltd and return them to Vacu-Lug for recycling.

John Parsons, finance director of Vacu-Lug, said: “Transport, logistics and waste management operators nationwide place their trust in our products and our commitment to providing a responsive and dedicated collection and delivery service. Over the past ten years Nightfreight has continued not only to meet but to exceed our expectations.”

Nightfreight expects to distribute and collect over 300,000 tyres for Vacu-Lug over the next 12 months. During 2010, it distributed over 141,000 new tyres and collected 200,000 used tyres for the firm.

Ian Smith, chief executive officer of Nightfreight, said: “We’re delighted to extend our partnership with Vacu-Lug for another two years.”
