Liberte: “In August 2002, we will open the international communications
market up and intercity connections in 2003. In 2004 the fixed telephony
market will be completely open. Regarding public operators, the Post Office
and Algerie Telecom, we are preparing for competition. Internationally, in
November 2001 the underwater Algiers-Palma cable will be ready. We already
have an underwater Algiers-Marseille cable.”
