Swiss Post Solutions renews eBilling deal with UK Mail
Swiss Post Solutions is set to continue providing billing services for UK Mail Group, the private sector postal company in the UK, for a further five years. Renewing its contract to provide a multi-channel billing system for UK Mail, its customers and franchised partners, SPS said it will now look to drive up the uptake of electronic delivery within the system.
UK Mail was one of the first in the UK mail and express sector to switch to delivering invoices electronically, said the Swiss company, which has been working with Birmingham-based UK Mail since 2002.
Currently, around 54% of invoices – around 69,300 items per month – are being sent digitally, with 63,000 documents printed, finished and mailed by SPS at its Document Processing Centre.
But under the new deal, SPS will aim to drive up the electronic delivery uptake.
Jason Sheffield, group credit manager at UK Mail, said customer service levels had been consistently improved through the SPS partnership so far.
“SPS has created a bespoke and scalable billing solution that will grow with us over time, so that it remains aligned with our commercial needs and those of our customers and partners,” he said.
Portal
The SPS eBilling system provides an online portal where customers and partners can access current and historic data at any time, as well as checking their account status, view or download invoices, statements, credits and debits.
SPS said the portal means extra visibility and improved customer interaction for UK Mail, as well as “significant” cost savings in reduced paperwork.
Gary Harrold, chief operations officer for UK and Ireland at SPS, said UK Mail’s willingness to try the latest technology and innovations to improve customer service meant rewards in customer satisfaction levels.
“SPS looks forward to continuing to work with UK Mail – not only in increasing the penetration of eBilling, but also in identifying further opportunities to delivery added value and cost efficiencies to their business processes,” he said.
UK Mail Group has a network of about 50 sites and 2,500 vehicles.
