Toys”R”Us launches cross-border shipping with i-parcel

Retail giant Toys”R”Us has partnered with business-to-consumer parcel shipping company i-parcel to offer international shipping on orders to more than 60 countries. The shipping is available for shoppers using the Toysrus.com and Babiesrus.com websites to deliver items to countries in Asia, the Caribbean, Central America, Europe, North America and South America.

Children’s products specialist Toys”R”Us said the international shipping partnership nearly doubles the number of countries that can now access its products through the two websites.

International shipping will be available for “the majority of products” on the two websites, the company said.

Milton Pappas, the retailer’s ecommerce customer experience vice president in the US, said: “This new service allows us to expand the global reach of the Toys”R”Us and Babies”R”Us brands to countries where we do not already operate stores, including Brazil and Mexico.”

International consumers shopping through the Toys”R”Us websites will be transferred to an i-parcel webpage once they have selected a destination for their delivery. The i-parcel page will display all the tax, shipping and duty costs, allowing the consumer to complete their transaction through the i-parcel page.

As well as facilitating international sale, transport and delivery, i-parcel will also provide customer service to support international purchases, which Toys”R”Us said would mean a seamless customer experience.

Toys”R”Us said the alliance with i-parcel would even allow US customers to shop in store and have items delivered to friends or relatives abroad, with the help of a retail assistant.

i-parcel is a non-asset based company that specialises in air express services for business-to-consumer parcels, particularly for ecommerce.

The company based in Burlington, Massachusetts, has offices in New Jersey and Los Angeles, and back in September opened new offices in Indianapolis and at Camberley, Surrey, in the UK.
