Roche Consumer Products renews contract with Exel

Roche Consumer Products has renewed its multi-million-pound supply chain contract with Exel. The renewal follows a full invitation to tender process, as a result of which Exel was awarded the work for both the ethical pharmaceutical supply chain, which will be managed at Exel’s specialist pharma centre near Banbury and the over-the counter (OTC) products business.

This will be handled out of Exel’s Bawtry centre, which is dedicated to servicing FMCG contracts. Exel handles some 200 OTC product lines for Roche in a 50,000 sq ft dedicated area at the shared user Bawtry site.

On average, Exel receives orders for Roche products per week and delivers to over 800 outlets. Sixty percent of the stock is destined for major retailers, with 20 percent going to major wholesalers and the remainder to smaller, independent retailers and wholesalers.
