Huntsman Surface Sciences award contract to TDG

Huntsman Surface Sciences, chemicals manufacturer, has awarded TDG a four-year, multi-million-pound national distribution contract, under which TDG will undertake the inbound collection of raw materials and bulk distribution of outbound liquid surface active agents used primarily in the manufacture of detergents and toiletries.

The contract will be managed from Hunstman’s Whitehaven plant. In order to maximise supply chain efficiency, a range of distribution modes will be used. TDG has invested in advanced swap body tank equipment to gain increased fleet utilisation and provide both rail and European capability in the future. Dedicated multi-compartment road tanks with 44tonnes capacity to facilitate inbound load consolidation and customer drops are also being utilised. Vehicles are located on site at Whitehaven and at TDG’s Runcorn and Longridge depot.
