Self-service parcel terminals becoming more popular

The company Baltic Post running the network of the self-service parcel terminals LP EXPRESS 24 says that the number of items sent via the self-service parcel terminals in 2013 has tripled when compared with 2012 figures. Domas Sabaitis, director of the company Baltic Post, said:

“The interest in the self-service parcel terminals is constantly growing. The residents discover the benefits of the terminals and tend to choose them as an alternative both for sending and collecting items. The possibilities provided by the terminals are not yet exhausted, and the number of users will grow.”

According to Mr Sabaitis, with growing e-commerce, online traders are looking for delivery options attractive to customers. The self-service parcel terminals enable customers to pick items up at the most convenient time as the terminals are operational 24/7. The number of items sent via the terminals to foreign countries is also growing. The most popular destination countries are Latvia and Poland as well as Great Britain, Germany, and Denmark. The largest flows of posted items come from the LP EXPRESS 24 terminals located at Vilnius and Kaunas shopping centres.
