Consignia in 1.5 Bln Stg IT deal with Computer Sciences, Xansa, BT Alliance

Consignia, the parent company of the UK Post Office, has chosen Computer Sciences Corp as the preferred bidder for a 1.5 bln stg IT outsourcing contract.

CSC has formed the Prism Alliance with Xansa PLC and BT Group PLC to provide IT services throughout the life of a 10-year contract.

In a statement, Consignia and CSC said the outsourcing covers a large element of Consignia’s IT operation and other support services and is part of a three-year renewal plan to return Consignia to profitability.

The deal would lead to the transfer of around 2,000 staff from Consignia.
