7-Eleven to expand Tokyo business meal delivery service

Convenience store operator 7-Eleven is reportedly set to expand its Tokyo business meal delivery service. According to local media source Nikkei, 7-Eleven began offering business meal delivery services from around 600 greater Tokyo stores this month and it now plans to add around 1,000 stores across Chiba Prefecture in April.

The Nikkei article said that 7-Eleven is looking to “cover 14,000 [stores] nationally by August”.

According to Nikkei, the meals are shipped to the nearest store for staff to deliver by bicycle or electric car. Couriers include Yamato Transport will reportedly be used to handle large orders.
