New French hub for Palletways

New French hub for Palletways

The Palletways Group, Europe’s express palletised freight network, which operates a distribution network across the UK, has strengthened its presence in France with the opening of a new hub in Lyon, in the south east of the country.
The hub will be fully operational from mid-April and simultaneously Palletways will increase the frequency, cost-efficiency and visibility of services between the UK and France.

Palletways has invested in the new facility as part of a major hub development programme across Europe to continuously enhance the company’s collection and delivery services to customers. The company has recently invested in new hubs in Montpellier (France) and Fradley (UK) and expanded existing facilities in Zaragoza (Spain) and Milan (Italy). It is also opening a new hub in Homberg, Germany in summer 2016.

Rachael Alpha, Managing Director at Palletways Europe GmbH, said: “2015 was a record year for the group and in 2016, our focus will be on continuously improving our infrastructure and bolstering connections and service quality across the 20 European countries in which we operate.

“The Lyon hub will support our growth ambitions in France and will enhance our pan-European offering, including to our customers in the UK.”

James Wilson, Chief Executive at Palletways, added: “This development is a key part of our strategy to maintain our position as the number one pallet network in Europe. It will help us to meet our target of over 8 million pallet movements across Europe over the coming year.”

The new hub will be fully supported by Palletways IT platform and customer service operation, enabling real time visibility of all consignments at throughout their journey.
