UberRUSH API now officially open to all developers

UberRUSH has announced today (9 June) that its UberRUSH API is “officially open to all developers” – which means that all retailers can build UberRUSH delivery options into their e-commerce websites and apps. As previously reported, by Post&Parcel, Uber announced in January that it was working with a select group of retailers on beta version of the UberRUSH app – but now the company is making the app publicly available.

Writing on the Uber Newsroom blog today, Calvin Leed, UberRUSH Product Manager, said:  “With a variety of endpoints and features, the RUSH API acts as a simple solution for companies looking to build or streamline last-mile logistics. Now anyone can build on-demand delivery right into an existing business – or dream up something completely new.”

While Uber talks about the UberRUSH API being “open to everyone”, one should point out that the UberRUSH delivery coverage is currently limited to just three US cities: New York, Chicago and San Francisco. However, the company reportedly has plans to expand to more cities in the near future.
