ParcelShop app “harmonised” with other GLS apps

GLS has announced that it has updated its ParcelShop app and harmonised it with the company’s other applications: the online portal GLS-ONE and the GLS app. “From now on,” said GLS, “senders can choose whether their parcel is delivered to the recipient’s address, as has been the case up to now, or directly to a specified GLS ParcelShop. Payment is also possible online – via PayPal or by credit card.

“Recipients now also have the possibility to get a parcel label as QR code from the vendor for returns when ordering goods online. The parcel label can then be quickly and conveniently printed out in a ParcelShop.”

GLS said that the new app has been “well received” by the 5,000 GLS ParcelShop partners, who can now make direct contact with GLS service centre via the app.

GLS added that another benefit of the new ParcelShop app is that the delivery drivers now sign for the parcel collection digitally on a smartphone rather than on paper, which is more efficient and less wasteful.
