New Canon for Salvesen UK
Christian Salvesen has won a multi-million pound three-year contract with Canon UK. It will deliver Canon’s range of business machines and photographic products – which includes photocopiers, printers and fax-machines – direct to customers across the Midlands, South and South West of England.
The specialist services team will deliver, unpack and site products from Canon’s national distribution centre at Coalville, Leicestershire, direct to end-users, as well as transferring them between customer’s sites and returning used goods for recycling or disposal.
Salvesen will coordinate distribution from its national operations centre at Taunton, Somerset. Goods will be trunked overnight via depots at Rowley Regis in the West Midlands and Dunstable, Bedfordshire. The operation will use SHARPnet track and trace technology, providing web-accessed visibility of consignments.
John Caluori, Canon’s general manager – logistics said: “Secure distribution is critical for the intricate products Canon manufactures.”
