Ocado trialing TRIPL trikes for grocery deliveries

Ocado has been testing out the use of TRIPL e-trikes for grocery home deliveries. The company believes that Danish-designed TRIPL electric trikes could be a good delivery vehicle in London – and indeed other cities which may introduce ultra-low emission zones over the next few years.

The fully electric vehicles have a top speed of 45km and a range of around 100km on a single charge.

“We are always exploring new technology that could provide alternative ways to deliver to our customers, so this is an exciting opportunity and I’m looking forward to seeing the environmental benefits following the launch of our new trial with TRIPL,” said Suzanne Westlake, head of corporate responsibility at Ocado.
