Parcelforce Worldwide large parcels accepted through the Post Office from next week

Parcelforce Worldwide has announced that from next week its customers will be able to send their large parcels through the Post Office network across the UK. In a notice posted on myroyalmail.com today (20 March), Parcelforce said that it will roll out its express48large product to the Post Office from next Monday (27 March).

Parcels can be sized up to 2.5m in length or 5m length and girth combined. The individual parcel limit is up to 30kg.

As Post&Parcel reported earlier this month, Parcelforce is building up additional capacity to handle and deliver larger parcels.

“The move is in response to customer feedback that shows increasing demand for carriers who are able to handle larger parcels; and some delivery operators reducing the maximum size they will accept into their network,” said Parcelforce.

“The feedback also showed that a lack of suitable carriers has led to some retailers restricting the products they sell online, as they struggle to find a carrier to deliver larger items. Quality of service across the sector was also thought to be below expectation for larger parcels than for standard sized parcels.”
