Nippon Express and Amazon reportedly team up on Japan-US logistics service
Tokyo-based Nippon Express and Amazon are working together on a new logistics service for Japanese SMEs looking to export their products to the US, according to local sources. According to a report published by Nikkei Asian Review today (24 May), the service will initially be available for small, nononperishable items, and may then extend to include apparel, furniture and food.
The Nikkei Asian Review article said that when the goods arrive in the US, they will be stored at facilities run by Nippon Express or Amazon and sellers will market them through Amazon.
The new service is reportedly connected to the plans from the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry to boost exports.
