UK Lynx invests to double capacity

Lynx Express this week unveiled a new £6.5m investment programme which will see capacity at its Nuneaton hub double to 400,000 consignments a night. The investment includes £3m expenditure on an overhaul of the companys IT system, including barcode scanning and real-time PoD systems. It will also see the installation of a £3.5m sorting machine at its second hub at Nuneaton.
The investment programme follows a record year in 2002 for Lynx which saw it sign new contracts with JJB Sport and card retailer Birthdays. Lynx chief executive David Burtenshaw says: In the coming year it will strengthen Lynx Solutions logistics service.
Burtenshaw said Lynx is in talks with Postcomm to move into the domestic mail market.
