Construction completed on Amazon’s iPort facility

Real estate developer Verdion has announced that it has completed construction of the new £100m logistics facility for Amazon at iPort, its strategic rail freight interchange in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. The bespoke 1.1 million sq ft warehouse is half a kilometre in length – the size equivalent of 14 football pitches.

John Clements, European Development Director, Verdion, commented: “We are delighted to have completed on schedule, less than 12 months after signing the deal with Amazon – extremely quick for such a large and complex project.”

The new iPort facility will be Amazon’s third fulfilment centre in Doncaster. It will complement the existing facilities in Balby Carr Bank and Water Vole Way.
