Amazon India opens new Haryana fulfilment centre
Amazon India is expanding its infrastructure in the Haryana region with the opening of a new fulfilment centre in Jamalpur. Spread over 250,000 square feet with close to 1.2m cubic feet of storage space, the Jamalpur facility is Amazon’s fifth fulfilment centre in Haryana – and also the biggest in region.
Amazon now has close to 3.3m cubic feet of storage space in Haryana.
In a statement issued yesterday (31 August), Akhil Saxena, Vice President, India Customer Fulfilment, Amazon India, said: “In line with our vision to transform the way India buys and sells, we have been consistently investing in our infrastructure and delivery network, so we can increase our speed of delivery and provide a superior experience to both – customers and sellers.
“With the launch of our 5th Fulfilment Centre in Haryana, we strongly believe that we will be able to better serve our customers with one-day & two-day delivery. The FC will enable sellers use local infrastructure, save capital and help them grow.”
On 22 August, Amazon also opened its second fulfilment centre in Gujarat.
Across India as a whole, Amazon now has more than 40 fulfilment centres.
