Hermes launches “WunschExpress” service

Hermes has launched its “WunschExpress” service for fast, overnight deliveries in Germany. In a statement sent to Post&Parcel today (6 September) said that around 90% of its parcels are already delivered on a next-day basis – but the new WunschExpress service will make next day delivery possible even for orders placed in the evening.

In addition, WunschExpress will allow customers to pick a two-hour delivery time window.

As reported by Post&Parcel earlier this week, the WunschExpress service has already been made available to customers of the online retailer OTTO (which is the parent company of Hermes). In a statement posted on 31 August, OTTO said that the next-day delivery offer would apply for orders made up to 8 pm.

(For non-German speakers, wunsch broadly translates as “wish”.)
