Geopost discusses bid for Polish Masterlink and Spanish Seur

The board of directors of Geopost, the parcel delivery holding of France’s national postal service operator La Poste, held an extraordinary meeting in order to decide whether to bid for the entirety of Polish forwarder Masterlink and for the Madrid franchise of the Spanish express delivery service Seur. Geopost already holds a 50 per cent stake in Masterlink, while it is reported that Posten, the Swedish postal service operator, is planning to sell its stake. The Polish company generates turnover of between 10m euros and 12m euros. The Madrid franchise for Seur, which represents more than 20 per cent of the franchise network in Spain, is reported by a press source to be worth around 127m euros. However, it is thought that the French company could face opposition by the Spanish regulator and by other franchisees.
