Austrian Post is strengthening its logistics infrastructure in Lower Austria

Austrian Post has opened a new, modern postal base in Böheimkirchen. With a usable area of around 2,800 m², the location offers modern workplaces for almost 100 employees and creates additional capacity for reliable supply of the region.

The new postal base was officially opened in the presence of Doris Schmidl, Member of Parliament for the Province of Lower Austria on behalf of Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner, Franz Haunold, Mayor of Böheimkirchen, and Peter Umundum, Deputy Director General and Member of the Management Board for Parcel & Logistics at Österreichische Post AG.

From the new postal base, the postal workers deliver almost 4,200 parcels, almost 26,000 letters, newspapers and magazines as well as around 23,000 leaflets in Böheimkirchen and the surrounding communities every day. The delivery staff cover over 3,800 kilometres in the Mostviertel every day.

The modular location will enable Austrian Post to react flexibly to increasing parcel and letter volumes in the future. At the same time, modern workplaces ensure modern conditions for pre-sorting and delivery. The new postal base is also equipped with charging infrastructure for a fully electric vehicle fleet. The building is heated by a heat pump, the roof is green and prepared for the installation of a photovoltaic system.
