TNT launches U.S. service, one-rate letter
TNT International Express, USA has added two new services to its U.S. product offerings.
For the first time since its began operations in the U.S. in 1983, TNT will offer an intra-U.S. service, USA Express, targeting the key metropolitan areas of Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Greenwich, Conn., Houston, Texas, Los Angeles, Miami, Newark, and New York, Philadelphia, San Diego, San Francisco and Washington, D.C.
TNT will also offer a one-rate Express Letter with no commodities or weight restrictions to and from these cities for USA Express. Whatever can fit into the TNT express envelope will be sent for the same rate no matter the weight or the commodity.
“With USA Express we know that our customers will be pleased that we’ve heeded their requests to expand nationally,” said Curtis Watson, president of TNT International Express, USA. Watson said the new product would utilize TNT’s existing infrastructure. One feature, he added, is an option for later pick-up times.
Along with the USA Express Letter, TNT is also introducing an Express Letter feature to its Global Express product, offering a one-letter flat rate for worldwide service with no page or weight restrictions for all non-dutiable shipments such as documents.
TNT International Express USA is the U.S. express arm of the Netherlands-based express, logistics, and mail company, the $8.4 billion TNT Post Group.
