Angola Post announced the modernisation of 163 post offices countrywide, in the framework of the modernisation of the services in the sector.

The official gave this information to the press at the end of a field visit to Luanda’s main post-office and its branches, which served to assess their level of functioning.

According to the minister, the measure is part of the intention of creating multi-purpose post-offices where the citizens can benefit from various innovating services to be provided, among them the Internet, training services, among others.

Regarding what he checked about the current functioning of the sector, the official said that it is necessary to do some improvements in the sector, in order to provide a better service to the population.

According to him, the visit served to see the existing project for a later assessment and implementation of big changes in the area..

The official also visited the post office of Vila Alice ward and the central courier, which are being rebuilt since mid 2007 by the construction company Perfil Construcoes.

This is the second field visit of the minister since his appointment to this post. The first one happened in the National Institute for Meteorology and its branches and the National Commission for Information Technologies (CNTI).
