Pakistan Post looks to improve

Pakistan Postal Services (PPS) director general Fazli Sattar Khan has said that Pakistan Post is committed to make secure and timely delivery of mail, money and material at the doorsteps of the customers at affordable cost. Talking to APP, he said that Pakistan Post has a broad and varied role to play beyond provision of communication link for individuals and businesses.
“Keeping pace with the changing communications market, Pakistan Post is emphasising in the use of new communication and information technologies to move beyond what is traditionally regarded as a its core postal business” he said.
He said that letter mail is the basic traditional service of the Pakistan Post.
“Enjoying privilege over collection, conveyance and delivery, Pak Post ensures availability of affordable, reliable and a fast communication service to all segments of society across the country,” Khan said.
He said that Pakistan Post remittance services are very popular. These provide a secure and cheap mode for remittance of the money.
Fazli Sattar said that majority of population lives in rural areas where regular transaction services are scant.
He said that Postal Order service is designed to fulfill requirements for small remittances at nominal commission.
