Swiss Post keen on bank loans

Swiss Post’s Peter Hasler has announced his desire to reopen discussions on the postal bank. But the move will meet reluctance from political parties despite not looking for a full banking license for PostFinance, according to World Radio Switzerland.

Hasler hopes the bank will be able to provide mortgage loans without partnerships and loans to SMEs.

“Hasler is currently in discussions with the country’s financial markets regulator about increasing the postal service’s capital. He says he’s not sure if politicians will change their minds about expanding the post’s financial services,” reported the news agency.
