Van Gend & Loos Euro Express with new hub

Van Gend & Loos’ new distribution center in the capital of the Netherlands, The Hague, was officially dedicated at the beginning of September this year. The DPWN subsidiary now operates a total of 27 regional depots in the various Benelux states. Other Van Gend & Loos hubs are located in Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Roosendaal, Eindhoven, Utrecht, Brussels and Ternat. The new main handling base in The Hague’s industrial quarter of Ypenburg is 300 m long and 60 m wide. It is equipped with 162 truck ramps and fully-automated sorting system for parcels. The building’s front-to-back size allows simultaneous handling of incoming and outgoing goods. The new terminal satisfies both logistics requirements and high technical expectations. Vand Gend & Loos have announced that the newly developed sorting facility will ensure that consignments can be distributed faster, more precisely and more quietly. With this new logistics center the DPWN subsidiary is reinforcing a core competence, i.e. overland transport of parcels and pallets across Europe. Van Gend & Loos operates a fleet of approximately 2000 vehicles. The transport firm carries millions of consignments each month with a weight limit of 24 tons per shipment. Van Gend & Loos Euro Express has been part of DPWN since 1999.
