Ofcom publishes proposed Annual Plan for 2016/17

Ofcom has today (4 December) published its proposed Annual Plan for 2016/17. Stakeholders from the various industries that Ofcom regulates – which includes telecommunications and broadcasting as well as mail – are now encouraged to read the document and submitted their comments before the closing date of 26 February.

Ofcom will then published a final Plan in March, will take into account the stakeholders’ comments and ongoing industry developments.

In the proposed Plan published today, Ofcom has outlined some of the key projects in which it is currently engaged. One of these projects is, of course, the review of the regulation of Royal Mail which will look at “a range of areas, including efficiency, access and parcel delivery”. The review is being led by Chris Rowsell.
