Pall-Ex strengthens network with acquisitions
Pall-Ex has announced the takeover of two of its long-standing members, in a move which it says will “strengthen the network across the UK and beyond”. Pall-Ex has bought Dorset-based Shears Brothers and also the assets of the logistics arm of Essex-based Bowden Transport (which will now trade as a new entity called “Bowden Logistics Services).
Shears Brothers has been a member of Pall-Ex since 1997 and Bowden Transport joined the Pall-Ex network in 1999.
Kevin Buchanan, managing director at Pall-Ex, commented: “The purchase of Shears Brothers and Bowden Logistics demonstrates our commitment to creating centres of excellence around the country. By investing in established firms like these, we can ensure continuation of outstanding service and customer care across the network. It will also mean we can provide a broader range of logistics services.”
According to Pall-Ex, Shears Brothers anticipates a growth of 5.5% over the next 12 months thanks to this acquisition. Bowden Logistics’ sales are similarly expected to increase, growing by 7.5%.
