Target giving curbside deliveries another go

Target giving curbside deliveries another go

US retailer Target is trialling a curbside delivery at a select number of stores in the Minneapolis area. According to local sources, the service went live earlier this month (July) but is currently only being tested by Target employees and available at just a handful of stores. However, a company spokesperson said that there was potential for a broader rollout.

Target previously tested a similar service in a partnship with the California-based startup Curbside. The tests started in California in 2014 and were extended to stores in New Jersey, Philadelphia and Chicago, but were then discontinued in 2016.

Target’s big competitor, Walmart, has been rolling out its own curbside delivery service in stores across the US – which may have played a part in Target’s decision to give it another go.
