Deutsche Post Set to Buy Austria's Cargoplan

Deutsche Post AG is close to reaching agreement on the takeover of Austria’s Cargoplan-Gruppe. A spokesman for the German postal services giant confirmed Wednesday that his group was “in talks on the acquisition of a logistics group”. But he added that a deal had not yet been finalized.

Deutsche Post to be asked by cartel office to clarify Transoflex market role

Deutsche Post World Net AG is to be asked by the German Cartel Office to clarify whether or not its parcel unit Transoflex holds a market dominant position, Financial Times Deutschland said, citing a cartel office spokesman. It said because of this development, it is very likely that Deutsche Post might have to divest its 24.8 pct stake in Transoflex.
