Mitsui-Soko Co. said it has agreed with the Japanese Postal Services Agency to combine their respective warehousing and small-parcel delivery services. The tie-up will enable companies to outsource whole “business to consumer” services including the acceptance of orders by telephone, warehousing, home delivery of merchandise to buyers, and the collection of payments, the warehousing company said.

Japan’s Postal Services Agency will set up an office to promote business tie-ups with private firms in a bid to boost revenue and improve customer services, agency officials said Friday.
The move is in line with ongoing reform in Japan’s postal services and the agency’s planned shift in April to a new public corporation.
