Qatar Post to launch facility for Kahramaa bill payment

Qatar’s General Postal Corporation (Q-Post), as part of its expansion programme, plans to offer the e-resident services from all the 24 post offices in Qatar before the end of this year, Abdulla Al Hajri, head of public relations and customer services said.

Q-Post will also launch the facility of paying electricity and water bills at its branches within the next couple of weeks, he added.

Qatar Post to run all postal services electronically

The Qatar Postal Corporation (Q-Post) is speeding up its efforts to run all the postal services electronically. A senior official at the corporation has said that a new training centre would soon be established as part of a plan to develop a new IT system.

The Q-Post Chairman, Ali bin Mohammed Al Ali said the 22 postal services, currently presented to the public, would fully be run electronically after the completion of the networking with an advanced computer control system. The new system, he said, is scheduled to be implemented in early January 2004.

Qatar Post To Change Law On Courier Firms

A law regulating the operations of foreign and local courier firms in Qatar is expected to come into force early next year. A revised postal tarrif for mail will also be enforced around the same time, Ali Mohammad Al Ali, chairman of the General Postal Corporation (Q-Post) said, the Al Sharq daily reports.
