Emirates Post net exceeds DH97m
Emirates Post has made a profit exceeding Dh97 million in 2001. This was revealed yesterday by Ahmed Humaid Al Tayer, UAE Minister for Communications and Chairman of Emirates Post.

Maersk links with Emirates

THE UAE is likely to come up with a law fixing a threshold below which no courier company will be allowed to offer services in the local market, industry sources said.
The move has been initiated by Empost (Emirates Corporation for Commercial Postal Services), a wholly owned subsidiary of the UAE General Postal Authority (GPA), which has recommended to the Ministry of Finance and Industry to enforce the new law, the sources said.
Big increase in UAE mail
Despite the global anthrax scare and Internet eating into large volumes of postal business internationally, the UAE Postal Authority has reported voluminous increase in its mail during the festive season.
