Neopost partners with Royal Mail for tracking solutions
Royal Mail has chosen Neopost as a partner for two of its new solutions to aid SMEs. Neopost has been selected by the operator to be a development partner for Royal Mail Tracked and Royal Mail Tracked Next Day.
Customers access the tracked services through a new despatch management system, Despatch Manager Online (DMO). DMO – developed with the help of Neopost – is fully integrated with Royal Mail systems including billing and the track and trace database.
Available for shipments up to 15kg, Royal Mail Tracked and Royal Mail Tracked Next Day offer the choice of next day (24 hour) and 48 hour delivery.
The introduction of these two new services allows customers to track their shipments and check status at five key stages of the delivery process, with the final track occurring at the delivery address when the shipment is delivered.
Royal Mail said it developed these services to fill a gap in its product portfolio.
Gary Winter, head of goods fulfillment at Royal Mail, said: “Royal Mail is determined to invest to maintain and increase our share of the growing online retailing sector by extending our range of tracked services to our small and medium sized customers.
“The delivery of goods ordered online is a tremendous growth opportunity and we will continue to develop services, like Royal Mail Tracked, which deliver real impact and results to businesses and greater flexibility and certainty for consumers.”
Before the partnership was established, Neopost already worked with Royal Mail customers supplying them with franking machines.
Simon Gourlay, Neopost’s business development director, said: “We are delighted to partner with Royal Mail for the DMO system. DMO is very much in line with our core business vision. Furthermore, we are working with the Royal Mail to further explore the access to potential customers via a strategic partnership.”
