FedEx to open new distribution centre in Spain

US courier company Federal Express (FedEx) has decided to increase its presence in Europe. FedEx, which currently has a workforce of 8,200 in Europe, is in the process of opening new distribution centres and entering into alliances with local courier companies. It is currently finalising the opening of new distribution centres in Spain (Madrid), France (Rouen) and The Netherlands (Amersfood).

FedEx, which was founded in 1973, employs 138,000 staff in 215 countries. FedEx began operations in Spain in 1989, and employs 289 staff at its three distribution centres in Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia.
