Brazilian Flash Courier doubles franchise chain

Flash Courier – a company created to operate in the express services market – has decided to expand its franchise chain and by this means assure a 100percent growth per year as of 2004. The company currently holds 70 master-franchised and plans 150 by 2007. When it started up ten years ago, Flash used to deliver 50 units per month but in June 2004 it reached the mark of 473,000 units. The company predicts 600,000 deliveries per month in July and believes it may reach 800,000 in December. The state owned ECT (Empresa Brasileira de Correios e Telegrafos) is the leader in such market moving 35mil units per day. Flash Courier wants 1percent of such market. The company scheduled investments of RD7.6mil in its expansion over the next three years.
