PARCELFORCE WORLDWIDE JOINS GENERAL PARCEL NETWORK

Parcelforce Worldwide announced today that it has become the UK partner
in Europe’s major parcel and logistics network, General Parcel.
The move, which comes into effect on May 1, will further strengthen
Parcelforce Worldwide’s position in the UK as the leading provider of a
complete package and consignment distribution service.
The General Parcel consortium was established in July 1992 and comprises
22 European partners who offer a top quality service to 30 countries using the
latest parcel-tracking technology.
Chris Kalla-Bishop, Parcelforce Worldwide’s Marketing and Sales Director,
said: “The Post Office is aiming to become one of the world’s top
distribution companies and so this link-up with the General Parcel network is
tremendous for us.
“We have joined a genuinely integrated and comprehensive European
network for parcel distribution. It is good news for both our customers and

The aim of General Parcel is to enable its partners to offer parcel
distribution across across Europe.
By joining General Parcel, Parcelforce Worldwide will extend the reach of
its existing Euro 48 service. `In addition, it will introduce a new product to
customers entitled Echo Pack, which allows UK businesses to order a collection
in another country for delivery anywhere in the General Parcel network.
Parcelforce Worldwide will also benefit from General Parcel’s standardised
IT network, as well as the latest track and trace technology along with the
use of the internet.

distribution companies and a General Parcel partner.
