SwipBox: we are preparing for the new normal

Over the last year SwipBox has seen an explosive increase in the number of parcels being delivered to their parcel lockers all over the world. With Black Friday and Christmas shopping just around the corner SwipBox is preparing for a historical peak season.

The parcel industry and shopping patterns of end users have changed massively due to Covid-19. For SwipBox this has meant many of their customers have ordered extra parcel lockers as their networks are being filled up with parcels.

Kasper Cort, CCO at SwipBox, said: “It’s no surprise that we have seen a huge jump in orders of parcel lockers. In 1 year, we have seen an 53% increase in parcels being delivered to our lockers worldwide which simply means that our customers need added capacity to their networks.”

SwipBox operates with two different types of parcel lockers: their screen-operated SwipBox Classic solution and their screenless app-operated SwipBox Infinity solution. Both of them have been in high demand – especially since the Covid-19 pandemic started, as parcel lockers are a great solution in order to handle deliveries  contact free. Many new customers have recognised that automated solutions are the future and have started to order parcel lockers from SwipBox.

“We have seen huge interest from new customers and we are able to meet the high demand from both current and new customers, so we are ready for the upcoming peak season. We are now preparing for the new normal,” Kasper Cort commented.

“Since March this year we have seen the utilization rate of our SwipBox Infinity parcel lockers increase dramatically, and we have also observed that people are ordering smaller parcels than before the Covid-19 pandemic began. Therefore, we are now looking into new configurations and add-on features of the SwipBox Infinity parcel locker to ensure that we are being up-to-date with the demand from  the market,” Kasper Cort concluded.
