FedEx: playing a role in combatting COVID-19 in South Korea
FedEx Express delivered a shipment of COVID-19 vaccines on 15 August to the Government of the Republic of Korea on behalf of the U.S. Government.
The FedEx team loaded and transported the time- and temperature-sensitive vaccine shipment from Memphis, Tenn. U.S. to Incheon International Airport and then on to their final destination in South Korea. FedEx leveraged its healthcare solutions and expertise to protect the integrity and security of this shipment throughout the entire journey.
“We are proud to play an important role in helping South Korea combat the COVID-19 pandemic. Using our extensive network to ship COVID-19 vaccines to communities where they are needed most is some of the most important work we have done. FedEx is well-positioned to handle these shipments with our temperature-control solutions, near real-time monitoring capabilities, and a dedicated healthcare team to deliver vaccine shipments securely and efficiently,” said Eun-mi Chae, managing director, Operations, FedEx Express Korea.
FedEx continues to collaborate with the Government of the Republic of Korea, healthcare customers, and the producers of critical medical aid items to provide support where it is needed most. FedEx has delivered COVID-19 vaccines to nearly 50 countries around the world, including the distribution of more than 200 million doses throughout the United States.
