Chronopost to develop road network

Thomas Lot, chairman of the French CEP service provider Chronopost International, a subsidiary of the GeoPost group (owned by the French national post office La Poste), wants to develop a network linked almost exclusively to road services, thus following the example of DPD (which is also owned by GeoPost). The airfreight sector, which currently accounts for 20% of Chronopost’s activities, is to be reduced to 5% by 2007, and the network will be consolidated significantly. Lot announced that he intends to set up twelve additional agencies in France and modernise four hubs during the course of the next two years. Chronopost International will finally have 60 agencies and five hubs, including the hub at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle international airport in Paris.
