SwipBox to “conquer the US parcel logistics market”

Danish tech company SwipBox has announced that it has set its sights on the US.

With more than 30,000 parcel lockers installed, primarily in the EU, SwipBox is an experienced player in the global parcel logistics market.

“Parcel lockers are still a rare sight in the US. However, once consumers realise their convenience and safety, parcel lockers will no doubt become a popular choice,” said SwipBox CCO Kasper Cort, adding: “Lockers make deliveries much more efficient, with a driver delivering e.g. 30 parcels to one location rather than driving to 30 different addresses – in case of failed deliveries even making the trip more than once. In turn, consumers can rest assured that their parcels will be protected from porch pirates.”

The outdoor battery-driven locker, which requires neither internet coverage nor external power, can be placed anywhere. The locker is designed to be placed in locations convenient to consumers such as residential areas or near supermarkets, train stations etc. This gives consumers the possibility to easily pick up and return packages 24/7 using an app, which communicates with the locker via a highly safe Bluetooth connection.

“The US is a different market from the European ones we know so well. However, many of these markets were in the same position as the US when we entered them. In other words, we know what it requires to successfully introduce a new type of parcel delivery and pickup solution to carriers, couriers and consumers alike, always with the specific market and culture in mind,” Kasper Cort concluded.

SwipBox is already working with companies in the US such as DHL Express, providing a software product (Manned Service Point Application) that supports manned service points handing out and receiving parcels – from both consumer and couriers, making parcel handling a lot simpler.

SwipBox is focused on creating the world’s best user experience for delivering and picking up parcels using parcel lockers. Through a combination of intuitive network management software and hassle-free, app-operated parcel lockers, SwipBox delivers maximum convenience to logistics providers, retailers and consumers alike.

The company is headquartered in Denmark and has additional offices in Pakistan, Poland and Australia. Together with partners, SwipBox always strives to optimise their solutions to reduce the carbon footprint in the first and last mile area.
